Dr. Nako-Phuthego
Founder & Director
Dr. Onalenna Nako-Phuthego holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) with postgraduate training in Aerospace Medicine from RAF-CAM and King’s College London, where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Aerospace Medicine. She is the Founder and Director of Aeromed Prime Solutions Pty Ltd, a pioneering consultancy based in Gaborone, Botswana, that offers advanced Aerospace Medicine services for both the civil and military sectors. Aeromed Prime Solutions also houses Innovative Clinic, which provides primary healthcare services, while Aeromed Prime Consultancy offers a range of aeromedical services, including specialized training accredited by the Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) and the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC). Dr. Nako-Phuthego has an accomplished military background, having served as a Military Doctor at the rank of Captain in the Botswana Defence Force for seven years, including five years as a Specialist Flight Surgeon within the Air Arm. During this time, she provided specialized aviation healthcare services to military aviation personnel, delivering unique and tailored care to meet the demands of the aviation environment. Currently, she holds the position of Consultant Aero-Medical Assessor for the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB), where she is responsible for overseeing all aero-medical matters and regulatory compliance within Botswana’s aviation sector in accordance with the standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). In addition to her clinical and regulatory work, Dr. Nako-Phuthego is deeply involved in professional organizations and education. She has served as an Executive Committee Member of the Southern African Aerospace Medicine Association (SAAsMA) since 2022. She is also a Board Member of the American-founded Women in Aerospace Medicine (USA), where she holds the position of Membership and Diversity Chair (2025-2026), demonstrating her commitment to advancing diversity and representation within the field of Aerospace Medicine. Her passion for education and knowledge-sharing is reflected in her role as a guest lecturer at Boitekanelo College in Botswana, where she teaches aeromedical retrievals to Emergency Medical Care degree students. She has delivered presentations at several prestigious international conferences, including the Southern African Aerospace Medical Association Conference in South Africa in July 2024, where she spoke on Aerospace Medicine beyond COVID, and the African Conference on Emergency Medicine (AFCEM) in October 2024, where she presented on Safe Aeromedical Retrievals. She recently presented at the Medical Aviation Conference held at the Emirates Group Headquarters in September 2025. The event, hosted by Burjeel Hospital in partnership with the General Civil Aviation Authority of the UAE and Emirates Airline, brought together leading experts in aviation and space medicine. Her presentation addressed the Key challenges faced by aeromedical examiners in Africa. Dr Phuthego made history in 2024 when she was acknowledged in an article by the United Kingdom’s Royal Aeronautical Society as the first Motswana and the only African woman to have attained a Master’s degree in Aerospace Medicine. Dr. Nako-Phuthego’s contributions to the field have been widely recognized. She was featured in the Royal Aeronautical Society’s Black History Month publication in 2020 and co-authored a paper on Aerospace Physiology published in the International Journal of Aerospace Medicine and Human Performance by the Aerospace Medical Association in February 2023.
Karabo Isaacs
Operations Manager
Karabo Isaacs currently serves as the Operations Manager at Aeromedprime Consultancy. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Botswana and a Certificate of Proficiency: Introduction to Long Term Insurance. In recognition of her contributions, Karabo has served as the Course Coordinator for the Basics of Aerospace Medicine course in both 2023 and 2025, organized by Aeromedprime Consultancy in collaboration with the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB). She also served as the Seminar Coordinator for the International Aerospace Medicine Seminar organized by Women in Aerospace Medicine (WAM USA) in collaboration with Aeromed Prime Consultancy Botswana and the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana held in November 2025. Karabo is known for her exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and unwavering professionalism. Her exemplary work ethic and genuine passion for client service make her an invaluable member of the Aeromedprime Consultancy team.
Kamogelo Nkatswa
Receptionist
Kamogelo Nkatswa serves as the receptionist with a passion for patient care at Innovation Clinic. She recently graduated with a degree in Psychology from the University of Botswana, gaining a solid understanding of human behavior. Her experience in the clinic inspired her interest in the specialized field of Aviation Psychology. Kamogelo is currently participating in an Aviation Psychology mentorship program under Aeromed Prime Consultancy. She is committed to combining her knowledge of psychology with hands-on experience to make a meaningful impact in her field. Her approach blends empathy, curiosity, and professionalism, making her a valuable contributor to any team. Kamogelo envisions a future where she leverages her expertise to support mental wellness and performance in high-stakes aviation environments.
Clever Khumo Motsumi
Personal Assistant
Clever Khumo Motsumi is a dedicated Personal Assistant with strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills. He is responsible for managing schedules, coordinating appointments, handling correspondence, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of executive activities. Dr Nako-Phuthego delivered a powerful engagement in Dubai, proudly representing Aeromed Prime Consultancy Botswana. The event, hosted by Burjeel Hospital in partnership with the General Civil Aviation Authority of the UAE and Emirates Airline, brought together leading experts in aviation and space medicine. Her presentation addressed the key challenges faced by aeromedical examiners in Africa.
Dr Nako-Phuthego was invited by the African Federation of Emergency Medicine to speak at the African Conference on Emergency Medicine (AFCEM) in November 2024 in Gaborone, to address Aeromedical Evacuations as a function of Emergency Medicine.
